Soft on Crime, Soft on the causes of Crime

With recent events in the news of escapee's from prison the home office to be split in two and now that Mr Reid is asking judges to reduce the numbers of criminals sentenced to custody ,

I have to ask .. is this the labour government who was voted in ?

Are they really tough on crime ?

I also remember another catch phrase " education etc.." and look at that ? Now I don't generally comment on politics but one has to wonder where the hell is Blair taking us ?

Is this the legacy he is really going to leave ? oh do you want a PND ?... I have targets to make before the end of the counting year... I'll do you a special deal ( Honest )

Hmmmm.

So the new concept of law enforcement is that the way to reduce crime is to actually classify more incidents as non-criminal and a LEO who places the fewest number of people in prison will be acknowledged as having saved his government money.

"Officer/Constable Able."
"Sir. Yes sir."
"The government wishes to commend you for your actions in reducing the crime rate in your fair city."
"Sir. Thank you, sir."
"Yes, Officer/Constable Able, by diligent report writing and concern for budgetary constraints, you successfully were able to not make a single arrest for misdemeanor nor felony during that past fiscal year."
"Uh, I didn't?"
"For your extraordinary service you are being promoted to a supervisory position. Congratulations."
"Uh, sir. Thank you sir. What will my new position be?"
"You, Sergeant Able, will be in charge of training other officers how NOT to make arrests and how to write reports justifying non-enforcement action. With police like you this community will soon have a zero crime rate."

Thinners, thought we had lost you I almost left you as MIA!
Paradise great point, whats next a PI stating non arrests to go with FPNs CLE2/6s etc
I cannot believe that with SOCAP we need a reason to arrest - 'erm sarge hes commited a crime isnt that enough'!
Next they will be classing paedos as not dangerous and not sending them to jail.
Mr REID/BLAIR sort this F***in country out we are a laughing stock. If this was a game of poker the crims would have a high straight and the police/victims would have a pair of twos!

Investigations - 183 | Crimes Solved- 85 | No Crime - 47
