So Ms Dyamite has been sentenced,
The result.
To Pay £50 Costs and a £500 fine, a £750 Compensation to the constable assaulted and 60 hours community service.
Now before we all get on the moral high horse, personaly think that's a fair sentence for an open hand slap across the face.
However, time and time again we have examples of those before the judiciary getting a low level fine and been told to be quite that the personal financial background limits the level of fine as well as the powers of the magistrates court.
Hang on - you telling me that she could only afford this ? £1300 !
I think some one needs a tax audit.

There is primary legislation requiring courts to make fines realistically payable. Hence the sometimes silly-looking fines on claimants - if someone is on £54 a week jobseekers the maximum realistic fine is no more than a couple of hundred quid. I don't think we fine rich people nearly enough though.
Pardon my ignorance, but do you (as a PC) get to keep the compensation ?
Yes the assaulted constable does get compensation (usually 50 quid) and it is paid at the standard rate of a pound a week. Hardly worth the court costs most times.
